Aquarius Water Museum

Das Aquarius Wassermuseum in Mülheim an der Ruhr Built in 1893 by August Thyssen, the water tower provided industry and houses with water for many decades. It was closed down in 1982. Today the tower houses the Aquarius Water Museum powered by RWW Rheinisch-Westfälische Wasserwerksgesellschaft (waterworks Company) and is a fountain of knowledge concerning the "wet element".

At the top of the tower, the visitor enjoys a fantastic view over Mülheim and its neighborhood. Tours through the museum start in the dome, offering many multimedia-stations to experience the different facets on your own. More than 30 stations guide you down to the base of the historic watertower.
