Leather and Tanner Museum

ledermuseum besuchExperience the world of leather with all senses

Working with leather is one of the oldest handcrafts in human history. Since the mid-17th century this trade has also played a very important part in Mülheim´s history. Until the 1990s, the city was shaped by many tanner and leather factories. In 2003, the Leather and Tanner Museum opened in the building of one of these former tanning works and exhibits interesting documents and artifacts from this section of Mülheim's industrial heritage.
