Suggestion for a group-trip to Mülheim an der Ruhr

We will be pleased, if you decide to come with your group or club for several days. Herewith we want to submit a not-binding offer about how to arrange an entertaining and diversified program for your stayover. Of course we organize your trip according to your individual wishes!

For the accommodation we recommend e.g. the comfortable 4-star Hotel Thiesmann in Mülheims Old town, or the 4-star Hotel Kocks am Mühlenberg near the river Ruhr. As well we can arrange accommodation in any other hotel or category for you!

Program:
Friday: Arrival and check-in in your hotel. A welcome-drink awaits you for a warm-up to a nice weekend. For a start we recommend a visit to the world biggest walk-in Camera Obscura with the Museum Prehistory of Film.
As an alternative choice we offer a guided city-tour for 2 hours with one of our guides, that will show you an entertaining yet informative insight to Mülheim´s location. Of course, this can also take place by bus!
For the evening we recommend one of the many cultural highlights in the region, e.g. musicals in Bochum, Essen or Oberhausen, vaudeville-show in Essen, theatre, concerts etc. When your travel-date is fixed, we will inform you in detail.

Saturday: breakfast at your hotel
Afterwards you start to a day-trip through the Ruhr Metropolis. You visit the most important and impressive sites of the Industrial Heritage Route, like the Mining Museum in Bochum, UNESCO world heritage Zeche Zollverein in Essen, Villa Hügel and many more.

In the late afternoon you return to your hotel.
We offer also other routes to our neighboring towns. Please ask for further offers!

Sunday: breakfast at your hotel
10 am: The White Fleet awaits you for a relaxing boat trip on the Ruhr from Mülheim to Essen-Kettwig. Enjoy the atmosphere on board and of the nature at the banks.
About an hour later you arrive at the old town of Kettwig with its small alleys and framed-houses that invite to stroll around. Lots of pubs and cafés are a good opportunity for a comfortable break.
You can choose by returning with the White Fleet. If you actually like to do some active part, we recommend e.g. a bike trip back to Mülheim (about 10 km) and we provide you with rental bikes.

Otherwise you the unique opportunity to row back in our original rebuild Viking-ship. This is appropriate for 14 persons (bigger groups can rent canoes additionally) and a tour lasts about 4 hours. Lots of fun and action for sure!

At last you end your weekend at the inviting restaurant of Franky's at the Waterstation on the Lock island in Mülheim, where a final beer or coffee rounds off your time before your journey home.
