Childcare

There are different options to take care of your child in Mülheim.

Qualified childcare is provided by 86 municipal, confessional and private daycare facilities for children (so called "Kitas"). Some of them work as family-centers, which offer additional programs for families in the neighborhood.

Furthermore there are well-trained childminder. Special facilities for children under the age of three are installed, in which are up to nine children in a group, hosted by two childminder. There are also individual programs in which a single child is hosted at the childminders´ home.

All elementary schools in Mülheim and three special schools offer an "open all-day" program, which means that your child will be taken care of from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.. Another option is child care from 8 a.m. until at least 1 p.m., offered by some elementary schools. Whether this option is provided at your preferred school, please ask directly at this school or visit the schools´ homepage.
